Here at Print Online UK, we are proud to be part of the Quay line Digital Group which is all about quality. Quayline Digital began life as a reprographics company based in Shamrock Quay Southampton, hence the name.

That was in the mid-’80s, a long time ago, we have seen many technological changes in our time. We have come from the dark ages, literally, with days spent in dark rooms producing negatives from Littlejohn cameras as long as your car. Positive final films were made with tint laying to produce flat colours on the page. Colour pictures or transparencies were scanned and a piece of film, one for each colour carefully sellotaped in position and register.

We saw the very first introduction of Apple Macs, digital artwork, proprietary and postscript screening technics. All of which led to image setting, chromatin proofing and computer to plate technology.

The digital artwork revolution led to digital printing and then to digital large format, you could say we have come a long way.

We have never been afraid to invest in cutting edge technology, the first in the area to install electronic page makeup with a Scitex Assembler Plus, the first to install Digital Large Format poster printing complete with Fiery rip and flashing green light. No digital displays in those days.
